Age Cutoffs for Baseball

Fall ball division assignment is based upon where children play the FOLLOWING Spring season. The date of record for Fall 2019 is 8/31/2020 PLEASE NOTE: )   Requests for play-downs can be indicated in "Availability Notes" in the registration. Such requests will be considered, but are not guaranteed.

 

All players must register in their age-appropriate division based on the following age guidelines.

The governing body of PBSF baseball is PONY Baseball. PONY Baseball recently changed the date-of-record for division assignment from April 30th to August 31st with the intent to have children play with their school grade.

Fall ball division assignment is based upon where children play the FOLLOWING Spring season. The date of record for Fall 2019 is 8/31/2020

 Fall 2019 Pinto eligibility: birth-dates 8/31/2013-9/1/2011 (Age 7-8 on 8/31/2020)

Fall 2019 Mustang eligibility: birth-dates 8/31/2011-9/1/2009 (Age 9-10 on 8/31/2020)

Fall 2019 Bronco eligibility: birth-dates 8/31/2009-9/1/2007 (Age 11-12 on 8/31/2020)

Fall 2019 Pony eligibility: birth-dates 8/31/2007-9/1/2005 (Age 13-14 on 8/31/2020)

Softball Division Descriptions

There are no practices in Fall Ball. All players must register in their age-appropriate division following age guidelines established by ASA, the governing body for amateur softball of which PBSF is a member.
Players should register for the division they will be playing in Spring 2019 season.

6U

Sorry no fall ball

8U

Teams will play Sunday games in Oakland.  At 8U, girls pitch the first two innings and the coach pitches the last three innings. There is still a strong focus on skill development and learning the game. Games are usually about 1 hour and 30 minutes long.

10U

Teams will play Sunday games in Piedmont or Oakland.  Games are 1 hour 45 minutes long and now are full kid pitch with stealing and dropped third strikes part of the game.

12/14U

Teams will play Sunday games in Oakland.  Games are 2 hours and 15 minutes long.

Baseball Division Descriptions

Shetland (6U)

There is no Fall Ball for Shetland.

Pinto (8U)

Fee $160.00   Pinto Fall Ball is played at PHS Witter Softball Field. No practices. Each team plays one 90 minute coach-pitched game (following 30 minute warm-up) each Sunday.

Mustang (10U)

Fee $185.00  Mustang Fall Ball is played in Moraga and Orinda against Piedmont, Moraga and Orinda teams. There will be teams comprised of first-year Mustang players (U9) and teams comprised of second-year Mustang (U10) players. Each team plays one 120 minute kid-pitched game (following a 30 minute warm-up) each Sunday.

Bronco (12U)

Fee $235.00  Bronco Fall Ball is played in Moraga and Orinda against Piedmont, Moraga and Orinda teams. Following a 30 minute warm-up, each team plays TWO 120 minute games every-other Sunday. That is one Sunday off, next Sunday double-header, etc.

Pony (14U)

Fee $235.00  Pony Fall Ball is played in Moraga, Orinda and Piedmont against Piedmont, Moraga and Orinda teams. Following a 30 minute warm-up, each team plays TWO 120 minute games every-other Sunday. That is one Sunday off, next Sunday double-header, etc.
